MISSION STATEMENT

The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District is committed to protecting people, property and the environment. We will be responsive to the needs of those who visit, or live in our community, by providing rapid, professional, emergency services essential to the health, safety, and well being of the community.

We will accomplish our mission through prevention, education, fire suppression, first responder medical care, hazard mitigation, specialized rescue services, and other related activities.

We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models, and strive to effectively and efficiently employ all of the necessary resources to provide a service deemed excellent by the people we serve.

The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District is one of nineteen volunteer and combination departments that make up the Jefferson County Fire Service. This department covers 56 square miles and serves the citizens of Pleasure Ridge Park and Valley Station in southwestern Jefferson County, Kentucky. We gain
our operating funds as a taxing district and serve the community from seven stations, a headquarters and
a training facility. We are staffed by 125 volunteers, 44 full-time career firefighters, 24 part-time career firefighters, and approximately 40 other personnel who fill various support and administrative duties.
